Ardis’ Obituary Ardis Lee Philyaw age 84, died on May 1, 2019 at his home in Woodlawn, TX. He was born March 13, 1935 in Shreveport, LA, one of eight children. Ardis worked as a carpenter until he went to work for Brown Builders Construction Company as a Constructor Superintendent for over 20 years.

He was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ and was a member up until death at Marshall Church of Christ. He loved giving to people he loved and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ophelia Philyaw; brothers, William and AJ Philyaw; sisters, Elsie Walker, Margie Philyaw, Joann Johniken and Jeanette Addison; Also, preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Berry Philyaw.

Mr. Philyaw is survived by his wife, Donna Philyaw; daughter, Rhonda and Don Bocko of San Antonio; son, Wesley and Tammi Philyaw of Benton, LA; step-sons, Keith and Janice Wells and Kent Wells of Woodlawn; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Willard and Bettie Philyaw of Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held prior to memorial service from 10:30-11:30a.m. to be held at Marshall Church of Christ, Saturday May 4, 2019. Service will take place at 11:30a.m. Memorials may be made in Ardis memory to the Wounded Warriors in honor of his brother, Willard Philyaw.
