OBITUARY Arnold Broox Owen March 17, 1934 – July 27, 2018 A memorial service honoring the life of Broox Owen will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton, LA at 10:00 a.m. Cecil Marr, pastor of North Shreve Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Ken Norris. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Hill Crest. Broox was born in Longview, TX, and was residing in Shreveport at the time of his passing. He was an active member of North Shreve Baptist Church in Shreveport where he served as Deacon.

Broox retired from State Farm Insurance Company in 1995 as an Auto Claims Adjuster and was a member of The Gideons International, Bossier City Camp. His hobbies included wood carving, amateur radio (N5NS), and traveling the country by motorhome. Mr. Owen is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine McKinney Owen; and his parents, Arnold Broox Owen, Sr. and Linnie Avery Owen.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Owen Miller and her husband Steve; one brother, Marvin E. Owen of Baton Rouge; along with his niece and nephew, several cousins, special friend, Linde Barnhouse; his pets, Munchkin and Missy; and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be the men of North Shreve Baptist Church and members of the Gideons International, Bossier City Camp. The family wishes to thank the members of North Shreve, the Bossier City Gideon Camp, Dr. Joseph Jones and the staff of WK Greenwood Road, and Pilgrim Manor Senior Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.
