Arthur Edward “Ed” Kirkman, 88, of Franklinville, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence. Funeral Services, 11 AM, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Franklinville. Officiating, Rev.

Steven Cox. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Ed was a native of Randolph County, a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinville, and a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army.

He was the owner/operator of Kirkman Concrete. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Lednum Kirkman, his wife, Inez Moon Kirkman, son, W.A. Kirkman, brothers, Earl Kirkman, and Rayford Kirkman. Survivors: Lorraine Routh, and husband Tommy, of Franklinville, brothers, Walter Kirkman, and wife Pennie, of Asheboro, Odell Kirkman, and wife, Vergie, of Ramseur, grandchildren, Jonathan Kirkman, and wife, Allyson, of Randleman, Katie Decker-Fisk, and husband, Preston, of Summerville, SC, Kelli Kirkman, and fiance, Robert Caviness, of Ramseur, great-grandchild, Reagyn Brooke Kirkman, daughter-in-law, Jeanette Kirkman, step grandson, Michael Williamson, two step great grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice of Asheboro. Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur, and other times at the home of Lorraine and Tommy Routh, 1288 Academy Rd. Franklinville.
