We stand in humble submission to God along with this precious Bryant family to announce the earthly transition of Deacon Arthur James Bryant, Sr.. Deacon Bryant was escorted on the wings of angels as his soul went to rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Concordia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Elizabeth City, NC. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

II Corinthians 5:1. Deacon Bryant’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Samuel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC with Pastor Kevin Lighty, officiating and Bishop Cleveon Bryant, delivering the eulogy. His earthly frame will lie in state from 10:50 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC.

Viewing of his earthly remains will take place on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The family will receive guest at the home of the deceased, 402 Deleware Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC. He leaves to cherish his memories: 40 loving years of marriage to, Earline J. Bryant of the home; one son, Arthur J. Bryant, Jr. of Connecticut; step-daughters, Rena Robinson and Zina White (Virgil) of Suffolk, VA; step-son, Tony Story (Cheryl) of Haggerstown, Md; seven brothers: William Bryant (Indiana), Cleveon Bryant (Sharon), Clyde Bryant (Denise), Vernon Bryant (Shirl), Zenas Bryant(Lareda), Aeneas Bryant (LaKisha) all of Virginia Beach, VA; Clifton Bryant (Diane) of Norfolk, VA.

Seven sisters: Arkansas Foreman (Aldred), Eula Coston (Vincent), Kathron Lee, Novella Bryant, Nellie Bell (Jesse,deceased), Arnetta Forbes (Benjamin) all of Virginia Beach, VA; Mary Bryant of Columbus, Ohio. Two sister-in-laws: Christina Bryant and Ella J. Brown; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Final Care and Compassionate Services are being expressed to the Bryant and connected families, with love, care and uncompromising dignity by Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
