Celebration of Life- Sunday November 11, 2018 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at our West Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St. Chapel Service- Sunday November 11, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at our West Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St. Art “Toots” Helf (1931-2018) We miss you dad. Surely, you must be in heaven. Devoted father and husband, an inspirational generous person who cared deeply for others, including strangers.

Respected counselor, teacher, coach, U.S. Air Force captain, wrestling champion, neighbor, brother, grandfather, uncle and all around good guy. Thanks for helping us all along the way. You made a positive impact on our lives and the lives of the many others you touched.

You left this earth a better place and as we spoke recently, this must be the point of this life. You are extraordinary and deeply loved “Toots”. Art is survived by daughters Robin and Karen Helf, his son-in-law Jim, grandsons James and Stephen of California, sisters Barbara and Louise and a numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Sunday November 11th we will celebrate Artie’s life at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville, New York from 3PM to 6PM. We welcome everyone. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Art Helf-Tommy Riglin Annual Scholarship Fund.

Each year the fund will reward the achievement of an outstanding Long Island athlete who demonstrates leadership, athletic achievement, respect and most importantly kindness. Students of the Sayville, Brentwood and Mepham school districts will be eligible for this scholarship. Applicant and donation details will be available next week.
