ARVID R. ENSZ, 90, formerly of Madrid, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant. Arvid was born June 14, 1928, at Inman, Kansas to Henry and Anna (Reimer) Ensz. In 1951, Arvid married Florence Penner.

Their union was blessed with one son, Gordon. The couple farmed near the Blaze Fork Creek in Kansas for over twenty years, before relocating to Madrid in 1977, where they continued to farm. Arvid also served as a pastor of the churches at both Inman and Madrid for many years.

Preceding him in death are his parents, four brothers, three sisters, seven brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law; and one infant great-grandson. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Florence; his son Gordon and Janette, Madrid, NE; six grandchildren Kim and Martin Doolittle; Darin and Anna Ensz, of Madrid, NE; Don and Melissa Ensz of Vale, OR; Ryan and Elizabeth Ensz; Brad and Tammy Ensz; Joni and Lane Friesen all of Madrid, NE; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister Betty Giesbrecht of Brooksville, MS; sisters-in-law Margaret Ensz and Vada Ensz, both of Inman, KS; Anita Penner of Brooksville, MS; brothers-in-law Bill Giesel of Moundridge, KS and Milton Toews of Neilburg, SK. A memorial has been established in Arvid’s memory for later designation.

Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com. Services will be on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden Plains Mennonite Church west of Madrid. Burial will be in the Madrid Cemetery.
