Audrey Elaine (Tholen) Haecker, 89 years of age, of rural Pickrell passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at her home. She was born on August 28, 1929 on the family farm near Adams to John and Jennie (Walters) Tholen. Audrey attended Hooker School and graduated from Adams High School in 1946.

She was married to Henry Fisser in April of 1947. They lived on a farm southeast of Cortland and had 3 children, David, Patricia and Dean. Henry died in a farm accident in September of 1953.

Audrey and her children moved into Pickrell and lived with her parents. In 1954, she married Leonard Haecker and they moved to their farm near Pickrell where they added 2 more children to their family, Denise and Kevin. Audrey was a farm wife, helping with everything on the farm and dairy in addition to raising a huge garden and beautiful flowers.

In her 50’s, she started working at the Beatrice YWCA and then at the Beatrice Middle School cafeteria until she retired in 2004. Audrey was a member of Christ Lutheran Church near Pickrell, Christ Lutheran Church Women’s Circle, Thrifty Workers Extension Club, Pickrell Election Board and several bowling leagues. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, playing cards, coffee with neighborhood ladies group, making quilts for the church and having her family at home.

Audrey is survived by her children, David Fisser and wife Debbie of Highland Village, Texas, Pat Ferl and husband Dennis of Monument, Colorado, Dean Fisser and wife Janet of Harbine, Denise Haecker of Pickrell, Kevin Haecker of Pickrell; grandchildren, Jennie Fisser, Dennis Jay Ferl and wife Faith, Rita Lee Massie and husband John, Scott Sokolik and wife Erin, Becky Sokolik, Heidi Logan and husband Jason; great grandchildren, Jayde Angus, Sadie Seibt and husband Nathan, Marissa Ferl, Seth Ferl, Riley Ferl, Chloe Ferl, Cooper Logan, Avery Logan, Quinn Logan, Brennan Sokolik; and great great grandchildren, Pippa and Zion Seibt. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Wm and Ella Haecker; husbands, Henry Fisser, Leonard Haecker; great great granddaughter, Emory Yael Seibt; sisters, Bernadine Fisser and husband George, Shirley Ruh; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Haecker and wife Mamie, Renken Leners and wife Marie, Hick Rademacher and wife Katie, Henry Ehmen and wife Tena. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church near Pickrell with Pastor Heather Brown officiating.

Private family inurnment will be in the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pickrell. A register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pickrell with the mortuary in charge.
