OBITUARY Audrey Jewel Cox September 28, 1931 – September 16, 2018 Audrey Jewel Cox was born on September 28, 1931 in the community of Bairdstown outside of Paris, Texas. She found rest in the arms of God on September 16, 2018. She quietly went to sleep in her home in Humble, Texas.
Her early years were spent in Paris, Texas and at the age of eleven (1942) she moved with her parents, Gail and Jewel Melton, siblings, G.A., Ida Lu, Myrle, Gail, and Norris to Houston, Texas. She spent her life in Houston, Texas. She received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the precious name of Jesus in April 1959.
She devoted her life to God, family, and friends. She was a member of Grace Church. Left to cherish her memory, children: Rick and Linda Ramey, Ron Ramey, Melodie and Steve Yorek, Karen Cox; grandchildren: Shannon Ramey and Kami Walters, Tiffany and James Daniels, Myndi Ramey and Derek Cedotal, Audra Lethcoe, Rocky and Jenna Beard, Derick and Amy Beard, Kendra and John Johnson, Summer Yorek; great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Andrea Anderson, Jordyn Mallery, Kadi Green, Lane Lethcoe, Alex Daniels, Kaci Green, Josiah Ramey, Jake Daniels, Kali Green, Taylor Daniels, Conner Beard, Ayden Johnson, Carter Russell, Rilynn Beard, Charlie Johnson, Tressa Daniels, Evelyn Beard, Wyatt Beard, siblings: Myrle Hartman, Gail and Barbara Melton, Norris and Faye Melton.
Visitation for family and friends will begin Thursday, September 20th from 5pm to 8pm with funeral services beginning promptly at 12:30pm on Friday, September 21st at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park. She will be carried to her place of rest by her grandsons and great grandsons.
