Obituary for August “Jet” Santos TERRYVILLE- August “Jet” Santos, 87, formerly of Wolcott and Waterbury, died Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born November 9, 1935 in Waterbury, he was the son of the late Edward and Clementina Santos. August was a veteran serving with the U.S. Navy.

He retired from Highland Manufacturing in Waterbury. He was an avid bowler, loved to play solitaire and enjoyed watching black and white western movies. August resided in Terryville for the last 30 years.

He was the father of Monica L. Sommerford, Joyce Rhatigan and husband Michael and Elizabeth Santos all of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Devin T. Sommerfield; Michael, Brandon and Jessica Santos all of Pensacola; two great-grandchildren, Isaih and Aiyanna Sommerford; and two nephews, Mark LaChance of Texas and Michael LaChance and wife Wanda of Wolcott. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary LaChance and Linda Pinto. Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd.
