Lincoln – Avis R. (Cartwright) Farrell, 91, of Lincoln and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2018. She was the beloved wife of 68 years to Earl L. Farrell. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late William and Eva (Otis) Cartwright, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life before moving to Lincoln 3 years ago.

Avis graduated from Pawtucket West High School and received her degree in 1948 from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. She was proud of her professional career and retired to become a full time mother. Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her loving children, Michael Farrell (Wendy) of Smithfield, Deborah Hart of Block Island, Stephan Farrell (Julie) of Dallas, TX and David Farrell (Lorrie) of Pawtucket; her seven loving grandchildren; and her five loving great grandchildren.

She was the mother-in-law of the late Daniel Hart. Her private burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Donations in Mrs. Farrell’s memory to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-9826 would be appreciated.
