Barbara A. Donovan, 74, passed away June 30, 2018. Born in Akron, Barbara had lived in Atwater since 1980. She was retired from Copley High School and was a member of St. Peter of the Fields.

Barb was an excellent baker, loved Antiques and enjoyed bowling. She loved spending time with her family and her dogs. She was preceded in death by her, sisters, Ruth Donohue and Isabell Ripley; brothers, Al and Homer “Butch” Heiser.

Barbara is survived by her husband, James T. Donovan; daughter, Karen (Dan) Hickle of Mogadore; son, James (Julie) Donovan of Tallmadge; grandchildren, James, Courtney, Kendall, Carley, D.J., and Garrett; sisters, Betty (Don) Dean, Marcella Shenberger, and Helen (Jim) Colbert; brothers, Russ (Linda) Heiser and John (Cindy) Heiser and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and also one hour prior to the mass on Friday at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a . m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Peter of the Fields, 3487 Old Forge Rd.

, Rootstown with Father David M. Misbrener officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 70 W. Streetsboro, Suite, 201, Hudson, OH 44236 or to St. Peter of the Fields Building Fund.
