Barbara Ann Banosky, 77, of Allison Park, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Rebecca Residence in Hampton Twp. following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Heinick) Banosky of Rankin, PA.

Barbara is survived by her brother, David, of Linesville and sister-in-law Evelyn of Allison Park. She was predeceased by her brothers Michael and Robert. Her greatest joy was her family of Godchildren.

She is also survived by many cousins and close friends. Barbara was proud to have attended Robert Morris School of Business and remained active as an RMU supporter throughout her life. She was a long-time employee of Westinghouse Corp.

In the 1970’s she was a dancer with the Pittsburgh Slovakians at the Pittsburgh Folk Festivals. Barbara was an avid theater supporter and gained great pleasure from the many productions which she attended. Most important to Barbara was a life-long dedication to the Eastern Orthodox Christian faith.

She was a Sunday School teacher at St. Michael Orthodox Church in Rankin, PA – a joy she continued when she became a member of St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral in Allison Park. She was a member of the SAN Women’s Association and enjoyed assisting with their many good works. Barbara believed deeply in the missions of the St. Cyril of White Lake Food Pantry, the IOCC (International Orthodox Charities), and FOCUS Pittsburgh.

She was a great champion for the organizations and was a joyful and tireless worker for each.
