OBITUARY Mrs. Barbara Dawe Roper July 25, 1923 – January 17, 2019 Barbara D “Bobbie” Roper went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Dallas, TX surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 25, 1923 in Kingston, NY and spent her childhood in the Hudson River Valley. After marrying Wilbur F. Roper, she moved to Texas, where she lived in the Austin area, then ended up in the Dallas area for the remainder of her years.

She worked as the church secretary at the Methodist church where she and Will attended services. Her passions in life, besides her husband and family, were birds and flowers, particularly African violets. Will preceded her in death and she is survived by her son, Dave Roper of Plano, TX and his wife, Barbara; her granddaughter, Sarah Whitmire of Plano, TX and her husband, Mark; grandson, Clay Roper of Austin, TX; former daughter-in-law, Karen Roper of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren, Joshua Roper, Gabriel Whitmire and Rachael Whitmire of Plano, TX.
