Barbara Kay Minx, 78, passed from this life on November 12, 2018 surrounded by her family in Houston, Texas. She was born on April 28, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas. Barbara loved to do all kinds of yard work, and especially gardening.
She was known as the family’s photographer and her sharp memory made her a wonderful storyteller. She also enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy and sharing their history with her family. Barbara loved her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Rollie.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Willie Carl Durbin; mother, Doshia Mae Pool; step-father, Jimmy Pool; siblings, Elvin Durbin, Leonard Durbin, Doniece Durbin, LeNearl Graves, Joseph Durbin; son-in-law, Michael Hamic; and grandson, David Minx, Sr She is lovingly survived by her children, DeMerris “Dee” Hamic, Joan Barnes and husband Larry, Billy Joe Minx, Jr and wife Lindzy, Donna Collins and husband Aws; step-daughter, Debbie Lee; sisters, Reta Durbin, Carlene Miller; grandchildren, Amber Turney, Larry Barnes, Jr. (Bubba) and husband Kevin Barnes, Chad Barnes and companion Josh Nation, Stacey Garner and husband Chad, Asher Minx, Catelyn Collins and fiancé Joseph Doyle, Jeremiah Minx, Billy Joe Minx III, Brandy Minx, Lillie Minx, Evan Minx; great-grandchildren, David William Minx, Jr., Jacobi Barnes, Landon Barnes, Tessley Garner, Baby Girl Garner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carter-Conley Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Carter-Conley Funeral Home. Graveside services are to follow at 1:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Conley Funeral Home.
