Barbara Lou Ritchie, 75, of Houston, TX was born in Temple, Texas on June 17, 1943 and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2019. Barbara was the third of eight children born to Lala and John Jordan. Barbara lived in Temple, TX until 1958, after which she made Houston her home.

She was dedicated to her family, and moments like the births of her children and grandchildren were among the most important to her. She will be remembered for being devoted, giving, caring, and stern when need be. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ritchie; son, Ronald Ritchie; and granddaughter, Abbygail Gutierrez.

She is survived by her sons, Bryant Ritchie and Robert Ritchie; daughter, Rhonda Ritchie; granddaughters, Misty Gutierrez, Wendy Dietrich, Amanda Ritchie, Stephanie Ritchie, Dawn Berry, and Robin Ritchie; great granddaughters, Angel Gutierrez, Kaley Smith, Ashlyn Ritchie, Rebecca Hand; great grandsons, Nick Hand, Michael Mondary; Logan Ritchie, Robert Gutierrez. A graveside service will be held on May 4, 2019 at San Jacinto Memorial Park at 11:00am, with Earl Faust presiding over services. At this time, the Ritchie Family would like to thank everyone for their support in this difficult time, you thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
