Obituary for Ms. Barbara Lynne Mathis On Friday, July 20, 2018, at 3:45 pm Ms. Barbara Lynne Mathis, or better known by her family and friends as “Barbie”, went home to be with the Lord. To anyone who has known and loved Barbie, we could all agree that she loved and gave with her whole heart, expecting nothing in return. She honored the Lord and gave Him her heart and made sure everyone knew how good He was to her.

She had complete peace about where she would spend eternity. Her heart’s desire was that her family and friends knew how much she loved them. Barbie lived with her best friends Arnold Sr. and Olga Garza in Channelview, Texas for the past 16 years.

She was employed by Richardson Steel Yard at the Port of Houston for over 15 years. She was well respected by all those that knew her, not only as a respected leader, but a remarkable friend. To all of those who had the privilege of working with and for her, she has touched their lives forever.

She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Mathis, Sr. and her grandparents: RD and Maude Mathis. Barbie is survived by her mother: Georgia Mathis; sisters: Trisha Boggs and Patty Mathis; brother: Johnny Mathis, Jr and wife Alicia. Barbie was also loved by a beautiful multitude of 8 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.

Along with the crown of loving Aunt, she was also known as “Rabarbie”. She leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. For Barbie’s family and friends: Never forget the memories you had with her.

She would want us to remember her smile, her laugh, her heart and the joy she brought to each of our lives. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ms. Barbara Lynne Mathis please visit our Sympathy Store. Upcoming Events Visitation , JUL 30.
