Obituary for Barbara Margaret Miller Carbo Barbara Margaret Miller Carbo, 89, died in her home of fifty-three years in Terrytown, Louisiana, on November 2, 2018. Born in Flushing, New York, Mrs. Carbo lived in Louisiana for fifty-five years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Florence Miller, by her husband, Earl Anthony Carbo, by her three daughters, Yvonne, Kathryn, and Laura, by her four brothers, Joseph “Tapsy” (Elaine), Thomas “Tommy” (Patricia), Richard “Ritchie” and George Miller, and by one grandchild, Richard, Jr

She is survived by her four sons, Richard (Chantal), Michael (Martha McKnight), John (Vicky), and George (Leslie Lang). Barbara is survived by nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and, as the longtime matriarch of an extended family, by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Barbara was a switchboard operator in New York before marrying and moving to Louisiana.

Here she reared her children, worked for Sears, and was an active member of Christ the King Parish Church and School and local senior citizen clubs. Barbara will be fondly remembered for her curiosity and engagement with life, her patience, and her ability to love without judgment. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 535 Deerfield Road, Terrytown, Louisiana, and a Funeral Mass, which begins at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be immediately thereafter at Westlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, with a repast to follow at the home of Michael and Martha.
