Barbara Schmoll Starks, 86, daughter of Albert and Alice Schmoll passed away on December 13, 2018. She was a life long resident of Indianapolis, born at St. Francis Hospital on January 31, 1932. She attended Sacred Heart Grade and High School, graduating in May of 1950.

She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Barbara worked for Western Electric Company as a secretary from September 1950 until April of 1955. She married Robert L. Starks in October of 1954 and they started their… Read More » family in 1955.

She returned to Western Electric in May of 1962 and retired at their closing in 1985. She served on the Board of Directors of the Telco Federal Credit Union from the early 1970’s until 1996. After her retirement, Barbara worked for Greenwood Village South from 1990 until 2009.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1997, and their baby daughter, Cynthia in 1958. Survivors include her children, Susan Anderson (David), Robert Starks (Lori) and Steven Starks (Pam); her beloved sister, Donna Stasik (Frank); grandchildren, Staci Stofko (Jeff), Stephanie Hart (Matt), Thomas Starks (Allyson), Sarah Starks; great grandchidlren, Hugh Stofko and Jacob Hart, and many precious nieces and nephews. Visitation will be observed from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 17th and Tuesday, December 18th from 9:00-10:00 AM at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Rd 135.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital. The family would like to thank Community South Hospital and Hospice services and Margie Hart for their constant care and compassion to the Starks family.
