Obituary of Barbara Elliott Barbara A. Elliott, 66, of Dundee, and formerly of Wayne, entered unto rest on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Homestead in Penn Yan. She was born in Bath, New York on June 27, 1952, the daughter of Clarence Hurd and Mary Wood. Barbara was a bookkeeper for the Arc of Steuben.

She was a member of the Open Range Cowboy Church and a member of the Wayne Fire Department Auxiliary. Barbara loved to read and watch old westerns. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Dumbleton of Wayne, Barbara Groves of Bath and Peggy (Phil) O’Dell; two sons, Patrick (Tabitha) Matuszek of Monterey, and Donald (April) Elliott of Seattle, WA; a sister, Joyce Storm of Whitney, TX; two brothers, Lloyd (Betty) Hurd of Abbyville, SC and Thomas Matuszek of WA; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; uncle Kip (Jerry) Wood of Penn Yan; and nine nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Clarence Hurd, her mother Mary Wood, grandmother Ada Wood, and step father Joseph Matuszek. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Wayne Baptist Church, 69 County Road 26, Wayne, NY followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammondsport at the convenience of the family.
