Obituary of Barbara Crowley Barbara Reid Crowley, 85, of State College, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born January 25, 1933, in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert J. and Marian Lawrence Smith, Jr. On August 15, 1952, she married Richard L. Crowley, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are four children, Richard L. Crowley, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Howard, David B. Crowley of Raleigh, N.C., Mark B. Crowley and his wife, Laura, of Boalsburg, Linda Crowley Warner and her husband, Bradley, of State College; a sister, Marjorie Stebbins and her husband, Jim, of Lake Helen, FL; ten grandchildren, Alana Whittier and her husband, Scott, Amy Crowley, Derek Crowley, Amanda Velez and her husband, Michael, David P. Crowley, Tyler Crowley, Katelyn Crowley, R. Andrew Warner, Ryan Warner and Ashlee Warner and four great-grandchildren, Logan and Luke Whittier and Mason and Haley Velez.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Smith. She retired in 1994 after seventeen years as a Clerk for the Penn State Book Store. She enjoyed attending Penn State Football games and Tailgating.

Barbara was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Holiday Ramblers, The Red Hat Society and a lecturer for Weight Watchers. She was a golfer, an avid bowler; achieving several perfect games and later photography.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world together. Many of their retirement years were spent traveling in their motorhome all over the United States, Canada, Alaska and the Arctic Circle where they renewed their wedding vows. Winter months were spent in Naples, FL enjoying the warm weather.

Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m., on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Becky McGee officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
