OBITUARY Barry David PALMER January 29, 1950 – September 6, 2018 Barry D. Palmer, age 68, passed away quietly and peacefully on September 6, 2018. His wife of 47 years, Ronnie, never left his side. Born and raised in Dunmore, PA, Barry attended Dunmore public schools.

He enlisted in the Air Force, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Austin, Texas, where he and Ronnie made their home for the rest of his life. Barry was a strong, private person.

He started his air conditioning company, Longhorn HVAC, in 1986, and successfully ran it for 25 years. He was very proud of his success, ever modest. Cruises and traveling were Barry’s passion.

He and Ronnie began cruising early in life, and did it as often as possible. They also enjoyed going to Las Vegas, and various other places throughout the U.S. A lung transplant in 2008 gave Barry 10 more wonderful years. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and James Palmer, and his parents-in-law Sanford and Shirley Mitteldorf.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart Ronnie, and his buddy, Dooley Palmer. Also surviving are his brother, Donald and wife Judy, Tammy Palmer Caloiaro and her family, Amy Palmer Murray and her family, Donald Palmer, Jr. and his family, Cathy Mitteldorf Krus and her family. He loved all his nieces, nephews, and their children.

A service remembering Barry will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78752.
