Barry L Vannauker, December 16, 1935 — April 30, 2019

Barry’s Obituary Barry L. Vannauker passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Chandler Hall Hospice Health Services in Newtown at the age of 83. Born and raised in Jersey Shore, PA, and a graduate of Jersey Shore High School, Mr. Vannauker continued his education at Mansfield State University, where he achieved his Bachelors Degree in Education. He then went on to Penn State University where he achieved his Masters Degree.

In 1964, Mr. Vannauker moved to Fairless Hills and began his career in the Pennsbury School System as a Music Teacher. He eventually retired as an Administrator in Music and Fine Arts. He was instrumental in the overall organization of the music program for the school system.

Mr. Vannauker was a longtime faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills where he had been the choir director for many years. He was also the musical director for the US Steel Chorus, later to become the Men of Harmony. Mr. Vannauker has been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Jersey Shore for 50 years.

Beloved husband of the late Marvine F. (Thomas), Mr. Vannauker is the loving father of David Vannauker (Jenny) of Houston, TX; Connie J. Barone (Robert) of Greensburg, PA; Joanne Knorr of Nashville, TN; and Douglas Vannauker (Karen) of Levittown, PA. Barry is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Vannauker of Fairless Hills, PA. He is the devoted grandfather of 16 and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great grandchild in July.

Mr. Vannauker will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Barry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Meredith and Evelyn (Fillman) Vannauker; and brothers, Raymond M. and Donald W. Vannauker. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2:00 until 5:00 pm and on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, where his funeral service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Vannauker’s name may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills, 840 Trenton Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030 or to the Rotary Club of Morrisville, 2 Robinhood Drive, Fallsington, PA 19054 for projects such as polio Eradication.
