Beatrice Bell Ogburn, 95, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Beatrice was born October 17, 1922, in Parnell, Kentucky, the daughter of Albert Chester and Bessie Lillian (Russell) Bell. She graduated from Newton High School in 1940 and attended Drake University.

On March 26, 1943, Beatrice was united in marriage to Cecil Lee Ogburn in Bethany, Missouri. Beatrice worked 20 years for the Collins Community School District… Read More » as board secretary. She was a member of the Collins United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Eastern Star.

Beatrice enjoyed her flower garden and reading. Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Susan (Curtis) Stringham of Cedar Rapids; her granddaughter, Andrea (Adam) Kraus of Cedar Rapids; her great-grandchildren: Kale and Shiloh; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Earl and Arnold Bell; and her sister, Vada Phares.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at the Colo Cemetery. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
