Mr. Benjamin F. Cole, Sr., 81, a resident of Huguley, AL passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:30 PM EST from Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL with Rev. Frank Chapel officiating.

Graveside services will follow at 4:00 PM EST at the Waverly Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Donna Cole; children, Benjamin Cole, Jr. (Anita), Acton Cole (Michelle), Melvin Cole (Tammy), & Sandy Guthrie (Jason); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodson & Sara Brown Cole, brother, Woodson Cole, Jr., and sisters, Louise Baker & Kathleen White. Mr. Cole was born in Opelika, AL on November 16, 1936. Mr. Cole was a retired truck driver.

He served in the U. S. Navy as well as the U.S. Army Reserve. He was an avid Alabama football fan and loved his cat “Cornbread”. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice, Valley AL.
