Bennie James Kempa, 93, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1925 in Armstrong Creek, and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. He retired from Hanna Mining Company as Chief Ore Grader and moved to Winter Haven in 1985 from Hibbing, Minnesota.

He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #8 in Winter Haven. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth and a son, Bryan Kempa. He is survived by his five sons, Don Jim Kempa of Chicago, IL, Barron A Kempa of Tallahassee, FL, Robert Kempa of Minneapolis , MN, Michael Kempa of Cherry, MN, and Scott Kempa of Leesburg, FL; and a daughter, Jeanne Kempa Roberts of Winter Haven; seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 11:30am. Friday. March 8, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
