OBITUARY Bernard “Bill” Paul Harter Jr. October 11, 1929 – October 9, 2018 Bernard Paul “Bill” Harter, II, 88 of Winter Garden passed away on Oct. 9, 2018. He was born in Gainesville, FL on Oct.

11, 1929. A longtime Orlando & Winter Garden resident, Bill was president of Harter-Adams P.A. Architects for 42 years. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, in the territory of Alaska.

He was a honorary member of the Orlando Kiwanis Club and a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, in Orlando. Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge Eola 207 A&FM, the Scottish Rite and Bahai Temple Shrine. He loved all things outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing and their home in North Carolina.

A very active member in the community, Bill was also the Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 227, for 10 years. The joy of his life was being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. B.P. Harter and Kathleen Williams Harter and by his sister, Margret “Peg” Pattillo.

Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley; his children Kathleen H. (Monte) Olinger and Bernard “Paul” (Sally) Harter III; his brothers: Pastor Fritz P. Harter and Elder Gus P. Harter, his grandchildren: Eric Scmidt, Alina Dolan, Grayson and Gabriel Olinger; and 1 great-granddaughter Siena Dolan and many loved nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, in Orlando.

Interment with military honors will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Michaels Episcopal Church, Kiwanis Club of Orlando Foundation designated for the Orlando Day Nursery. FAMILY He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. B.P. Harter and Kathleen Williams Harter and by his sister, Margret “Peg” Pattillo.
