Obituary for Bernice Bordelon Bernice Bordelon, 91, of Houma, passed away on January 8, 2019. A private service will be held January 11, 2019 for Bernice Lorraine Halvorson Bordelon who passed peacefully on January 8, 2019 of natural causes. Her family was present for her passage.

She is survived by her son, Don Bordelon and wife, Bobbye, her daughter, Sharon Adkins and husband, Garey, and daughter, Susie Bordelon and companion, Jeffrey Oullis; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rosina Halvorson of Minnesota, husband, Harvey Bordelon, daughters, Connie Horne and Debbie Bordelon, son, David Bordelon, and her siblings who resided in Minnesota and North Dakota. Bernice was 91 years old and lived in their family home nearly until the end of her life.

She was born to a Norwegian father, Henry Halvorson, and Swiss mother, Rosina Schiesser, and raised on a farm in Rothsay, MN, the youngest of 7. She met her husband in Washington, DC during his naval service in WW Il. They moved to Houma where they raised their 6 children.

She worked and retired after 25 years as an office manager for Logan Babin Realty, and before for Terrebonne Bank and Minor Pipes Law Office. She will be remembered by those who knew her as a gentle but strong and loving spirit, and a true class act. She inspired her family with her strong faith in God and love of family and life.
