Obituary for Bernice Kelling The funeral service for Bernice Kelling of Wadena will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 19, at the Balsamlund Lutheran Church in Aldrich, with Pastor Eric Clapp presiding. Visitation will be held at the Johnson-Schuller Chapel in Wadena on Tuesday from 5 to 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Bernice, age 93, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena. Bernice was born to Sanfrid and Emma (Johnson) Chilberg on August 8, 1925 in Aldrich. She graduated with the Class of 1943 from Staples High School.

She was united in marriage with Everett Curtis on December 5, 1948. She and Everett farmed for several years in rural Aldrich. They spent their winters in Alma, Arkansas.

Everett passed away in November of 1985. Bernice wintered in Arkansas and sold the house in 1996. On April 19, 1997, she was united in marriage to Edward Kelling.

They made their home in Wadena. Ed passed away in February of 2009. Bernice enjoyed dancing and music.

She enjoyed playing cards and reminiscing with her friends. Preceding Bernice in death were both her husbands, Everett and Edward; parents Sanfrid and Emma; and son Doug. Bernice is survived by friends and family.
