Betty Ann Fried, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 11, 2019 departing from University Hospital in San Antonio. She was born on December 20, 1944 in Yorktown to Delphine and Alfred Leonhardt. She was married to Edward Fried for 22 years and they were divorced in 1985.

Betty attended Wharton County Junior College with a degree in Accounting and Business. She was an accountant for an oil company in El Campo. She lived El Campo before retiring to the Hill Country about 9 years ago.

After Betty, accepted her Lord and Savior into her life, she really loved to read and study the Bible and talk about what miraculous changes Jesus had done in her life. Betty spent good quality time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were a special part of her life.

She would participate in all outdoor events; mostly swimming which was her favorite thing to do even the occasional slide. Betty volunteered in the PTA and school functions as her daughters grew up. She assisted with providing medical help for Rev.

Kelly in Louise, Texas. She assisted the pastor and sat in on biblical counseling for women in Montgomery, Texas. She worked in the Good News Club servicing Starkey, Tally and Nimitz Elementary Schools.

She was a member of Kerrville Bible Church. Betty is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Buzek and husband, Greg of Rock Island, Catherine Fried of Kerrville and Christine Lopez of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Tasha Martin and husband, Brian of Austin Kaylisha Ruiz and husband, Matthew of Katy, Elijah Buzek of Conroe, Maresha Buzek of Rock Island, Nasosha Buzek of Rock Island and Brandon Lopez of Corpus Christie; great grandchildren, Maverick Martin , Wes Martin, Heidi Martin, Colt Martin and baby boy Ruiz is on the way; siblings, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Alfred Jr., Morris Dean, Steven and Corky. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband and lifelong friend, Edward Fried (2007).
