Obituary for Betty “Bet” Lorraine Maloney Betty Lorraine “Bet” Maloney, age 85 of Brandywine, Maryland, died April 9, 2018 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Bet was a Benefit Analyst with SASMI (Sheet Metal Pension Fund). She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camp Springs, Maryland.

She loved the beach, collecting sea shells, and lying in the sun. She loved to cook and bake while listening to music. Her smile would light up the room and was known to many as Bet, Mom, or Mammaw.

She was the daughter of Morgan Thieler and Virginia Stahl Thieler. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husbands, William Glotfelty and Vincent Maloney; her daughter, Brenda Fischer; and her sisters, Marjorie Bell and Reva Arnold. She is survived by her sons, Brad (Debby) Glotfelty and Bryan (Carmen) Glotfelty and her daughters, Kay (Robert) Harrison and Gayle (Henry) Shepherd.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Friends received on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 5-8PM and where Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:30AM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at 1PM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623.
