Obituary for Betty Boston Byl Mrs. Betty Boston Byl, age 90, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Spring Lake, Michigan. She was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota on March 29, 1928 to Albert E. and Delia K. (Johnson) Giddings. Betty graduated from cosmetology school in 1948, and owned and operated Betty’s Beauty Skellar for 50 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church where she had served as deacon. Betty had a great sense of humor, loved the Detroit Red Wings and especially enjoyed her lunch and shopping dates with her close friends Corky Batts, Mary Sabo, Cathy Newell and all the ladies they could gather to join them. She is survived by her children, Sandy Morritt (Tony), Bob (Kim) Boston, Scott (Kathy) Boston; four grandchildren, Shelley (Steve) Wilber, Lacy Boston, Geddy Boston, Samantha Pethers; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Boston (1972) and Gary Byl (2018); her parents; granddaughter, Nikki Lee Morritt; and sister, Kathryn Anderson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at The Spring Lake Chapel, 213 E. Savidge, 616-842-6100 with Pastor Donna Rick officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service.
