Betty E. Rubert, age 95 of Bridgeport passed away May 20, 2018 at home. The daughter of the late Frederick and Emma Haenlein, Betty was born January 6, 1923 in Saginaw. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School.

She married Robert S. Rubert on September 16, 1944 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2012. Mrs. Rubert was 1944 graduate of Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing. She served with the U. S. Cadet Nurse Corp.

at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, California and at Modesto California City Hospital. Betty returned to Saginaw and was employed in the Medical Department of Saginaw Steering Gear until her retirement in 1982. She was past president of General Motor’s Women’s Club, a member of 600 Bowling Association and was an avid golfer and member of Bridgeport Country Club for 57 years.

Surviving are 3 children, Barbara Ramirez, Fred (Jeanine) Rubert, and Wendy Bleike; 5 grandchildren, Michael and Bryce Ramirez, Eric and Ben Rubert, and Lisa Dionne; 4 great-grandchildren, Emery, Lila, Gemma, and Leo Rubert. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Earl, Willard, and Louis Haenlein. A Memorial Service will take place at Bridgeport Community Church on Baker Road at a later date.
