Betty Elizabeth Lewis, 66, of Grifton, passed away on March 12, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center. She was born on November 23, 1952 in Manassas, VA to William and Mary Cunningham Grant. Betty was preceded in death by both parents.

Betty was outgoing and very social. She enjoyed meeting new people as much as she enjoyed times spend with old friends. Her most treasured memories were of those times spent with family.

There was no such things as a stranger and throughout her life, she continued to touch those around her with her care and compassion. She will be missed by all who knew her. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons; William Durrence III, of Jenks, OK and Phillip Durrence, of Greenville; two sisters, Georgia Fulghum, of Grifton and Kathy Gray, of LaGrange; two precious grandchildren, Hannah and Parker Durrence, of Jenks, OK and several special nieces and nephew, Cole Bradshaw, Jennifer Grant, Katie Schneider, Heather Weeks and Kimberly Fien.

She also leaves behind a host of friends. Betty’s visitation will be held on Friday March 15, 2019 at 11:00am at Farmer Funeral Service-Ayden. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
