OBITUARY Betty Jean Burkhart November 14, 1930 – January 8, 2019 Betty Jean Burkhart, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born November 14, 1930 in Cawood, Ky. , she was a daughter of the late Euey and Sally (Mays) Bond.

A graduate of Hall High School, Grays Knob, Ky. , she was employed with Kroger Foods for nearly six years prior to having a family. In 1972, she began working at Maloley Brothers/Supervalu until her retirement in 1983.

She was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene for 60 years and enjoyed quilting and bowling. Surviving are her husband, Herbert Bernard Burkhart of Fort Wayne; children, Lana Burkhart of Fort Wayne, David (Michelle) Burkhart of Fort Worth, Texas, and Tim (Wendy) Burkhart of Churubusco; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Kay (Larry) Warf of Richmond, Ky. , John Bond of Benham, Ky.

, and James (Carol) Bond of Goshen. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bob Bond, Bill Bond, and Brenda Philpot; and great-grandson, Joshua Burkhart II. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene, 10621 Liberty Mills Rd.

, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 3-7pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. , Fort Wayne.
