Obituary for Betty Jean Davis Lunsford Betty Jean Davis Lunsford, age 88, of San Antonio passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Born on September 10, 1930, in Kentucky, Betty grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and San Antonio, Texas. A lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She loved to sew, making stunning dresses and clothes for her daughters and granddaughters. She was an artist who loved to paint and made beautiful arts and crafts. One of her favorite hobbies was porcelain dollmaking.
Betty was a Girl Scouts of America leader when her daughters joined a troop in San Antonio. She also was a den mother when her son entered the Cub Scouts. She also served on the altar committee at Concordia and was a childcare worker in the Concordia Nursery for many years.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Avery E. Lunsford, Sr.; and her sisters, JoAnn and Mona Fay. She is survived by her children, Jené F. Willis and her husband, Daniel; Pamela Jean Crumlish and Avery E. Lunsford, Jr. and his wife, Stacy; grandchildren, Michele and Christie, Giuseppe and Lorissa, Avery III, Ava and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Colton, Jax, Parker, Cooper and Liam; brothers, Bob, Harold, Jerry, Billy and David Davis; sisters, Judy Pritchett and Nancy Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. SERVICES Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. followed by the Service at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Road with a Reception to follow at the Church.
