OBITUARY Betty Jean Kennedy January 16, 1947 – December 29, 2018 Betty Jean Kennedy passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 71. She was married to her best friend and love of her life for 42 years the late Arthur Leo Kennedy Jr. Loving mother of Brenda Kennedy, Sherri Geeck (Chip) and Kelly Kennedy (Michael). Daughter of the late Chester Speed and Irene Ackerman.

Sister of the late Linda Pettis and Curtis Speed. Proud grandmother of Alexis Geeck, Brevin Lassalle, Ryder Miley and Wyatt Campbell. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was born on January 16, 1947 in Laurel, MS and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She had a passion for reading romance novels and enjoyed going to the casino. Her greatest joy was devoting most of time with her beloved grandchildren.

She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends and all of those whose lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will be private.
