Obituary of Betty Jean Westerman Betty Jean Westerman , 87, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Sundale Nursing home. She was born in Morgantown, WV, March 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Berlin Garlin Judy and Nellie (Vandervort) Judy. Betty retired from Ruby Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of Avery United Methodist Church and a graduate of University High School class of 1948. She graduated the same year as her future husband Earl Westerman whom she was a loving wife to for 45 years. Betty is survived by her brother, Lt Col.

(Ret) John Judy and wife Janice; sons, Joe Westerman and wife Laura, Harry Westerman and wife Mary; Daughter in law, Judy Westerman; Sister in law, Fran Judy; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband Earl Westerman; son, Roger Dale Westerman; sisters, Lenora Medlin and Mary Ellen Gatian; brothers, Berlin Garlin Judy Jr, and Dale Judy. The family would like to say a special thank you to the caring staff at Sundale Nursing Home where she was a resident for six years and also to Amedisys Hospice.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., and again on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. with Chaplin Craig Falkenstine officiating.
