Mrs. Betty Jo Hamby, 89, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the home of her son Ken, in Belen, NM. Mrs. Hamby was born March 22, 1929, in the Lowell Community in Carroll County, daughter of the late J. P. and Flora Eley Staples. She was the valedictorian of the 1946 class at Hogansville High School, attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, and was a resident of Clayton County for a number of years before returning to Hogansville in 1984.
