Mrs. Betty L. Cook Murdaugh, 80, of Hampton, entered into rest Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her residence. She was the widow of Calip Hugh Murdaugh. Born March 3, 1939 in Hampton County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Cook and Bernice Chassereau Cook.

She was a former seamstress and had worked in the service department at Scotsman. Surviving are: her son, Keith Murdaugh of Hampton; grandson, Cody Murdaugh of Hampton; and brothers, Jerry Cook, Robert Cook, Eddie Cook, and Joey Cook. She was preceded in death by a son, Reggie Murdaugh; and sister, Gloria Williams.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Sand Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at THE BRICE W.
