OBITUARY Betty Richie Thomas June 29, 1928 – September 19, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Betty Richie Thomas was born in Hatfield, West Virginia on June 29, 1928 and passed away on September 19, 2018. Betty was a graduate of Radford University and retired from the State of Tennessee. Betty had many crafting hobbies including painting, quilting, and calligraphy.

Above all, she enjoyed being a “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Thomas and parents, Lauza and Gladys Davis Richie. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara T. (Doug) Fillmore and Susan T. Russell; grandchildren, Rachel (Derrick) Romines, Robin (Brooks) Madison, Evan (Tempany) Fitzgerald, Joseph Fitzgerald, and Hannah (Joey) Maus; great-grandchildren, Addyson Hurst, Joel Thomas Fitzgerald, Montgomery Fitzgerald, Soyer Fitzgerald, Victoria Fitzgerald, Asher Romines, Kierston Romines, Gracie Madison, and Austin Madison; and loving friends, Ruthie Loar and Katy Webster.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hermitage Funeral Home with Graveside Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Pastor Deeanna Wall officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Evan Fitzgerald, Brooks Madison, Derrick Romines, and Joey Maus.
