FUNERAL: 1 p.m. – Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis and Rev. Brian Overbee.

INTERMENT: Vernon Cemetery – Smilax, Kentucky VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. – Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the church. Betty S. Lewis of Smilax, Kentucky was born May 23, 1950 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Woodrow and Cleda Maggard Vernon. Betty departed this walk of life on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the age of 63.

Betty had been a life-long resident of Leslie County except for having lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for a brief period. Betty was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, Kentucky. Betty was a homemaker and by occupation she managed two former restaurants, Mountain Manner and Lucille’s.

Betty could be described as a very kind and caring person. Always making sure everyone’s needs were taken care of. Betty was also known for her good cooking which she enjoyed.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald “Jerry” Wegford, Timmy Mills and Ricky Charles Wegford, brothers, Charles and Willis Vernon and a sister, Ruby Campbell. Betty leaves behind her loving & devoted husband, John L. Lewis of Smilax, KY, sons, Johnny Allen Lewis (Glenda) of Wooton, KY, James David Lewis of Wooton, KY, Jody Lewis of Mozelle, KY, and James Mills (Lisa) of OH, and one daughter, Diane Lewis of Wooton, KY. Other survivors include, one brother, Harold Vernon of East Bernstadt, KY, and two nieces, Teresa Adams of Yeaddiss, KY, and Patricia Sizemore.

Along with three cherished grandchildren, Gregory Sizemore, Courtney Lewis, and Loryn Paige Wegford; six great-grandchildren, Mason Sizemore, Gannon Sizemore, Graceln Sizemore, Cameron Shepherd, Dalton Shepherd, and Destiny Baker. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her passing.
