Obituary for Betty Samek Betty Samek 91 of Peru. Died January 4, 2019, in her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 11:00 AM January 8, 2019, in St Mary Church Peru.

Rev Gregory Jarzombek OSB will officiate. Burial will be in St Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday in St Mary Church from 10:00 -11:00 AM.

Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Betty was born April 30, 1927, in Sublette, IL to Adam and Helen (Hicks) Koehler. She married Ben J. Samek December 1, 1956, at St Mary Church in Sublette.

Betty was a member of St Mary Church, the former Alter, and Rosary Society and she worked at the Under Seller in Peru for many years. Betty is survived by her daughter Helen (Mark) Bryan of Peru and her son Jim (Tammy) Samek of Peru. 6 Grandchildren.

2 sisters Jean Joerger of Mendota and Janet (Wayne) Akerman of Peoria. 1 brother Jack Koehler of Sterling and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband in 2005, 1 sister and 1 brother.
