Reidsville Betty Zane Hopper, age 78, died at her residence on March 7, 2019. She was born on January 3, 1941 to Thomas and Audrey Anderson Jones in Corsicana, Texas. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a teaching degree.

She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated teacher, retiring from the Gulf Shores Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph S. Hopper, and parents, Thomas and Audrey Jones. She is survived by daughter, Heidi (Marc) McCall, granddaughter, Casey Ryals (Tanika Valentine), great grandchildren Jayla Ryals and Dalton Wood.

A memorial service will be held on March 16, 2019 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery Al. The family wants to “Thank” Ogeechee Area Hospice nurses, aids and staff for their services and support in their time of need. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Karl Stegall Scholarship Fund or to First United Methodist Church, 2416 West Cloverdale Park, Montgomery, AL.
