Mrs. Bettye Jewell Bryant Davis, 84, a resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday evening, October 30, 2018, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2018, from Ozark First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Greg Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

The family will receive friends at the church in Ozark Thursday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P.M. Born in Clintonville, Coffee County, Al. on October 7, 1934; the only daughter of the late Mr. James William Bryant and Mrs. Audrey Lee Cordle Bryant. Bettye graduated from New Brockton High School in May of 1953.

She has lived in Ozark, Al. since December 23, 1954, when she married her late husband of 37 1/2 years, Mr. Hayward Harold Davis. Mrs. Davis worked in the Dale County Tax Assessor’s Office, then worked with the Phillips-Van Heusen Corp.

for 35 years, where she retired. She was a member of El Bethel Assembly of God Church, New Brockton, until she moved to Ozark. She then joined Ozark First Assembly of God Church, where she was very involved until her health began to decline.

She taught the Beginner Sunday School Class for 18 years, Sunday School Secretary for 13 years, and a member of the Adult Choir for 25 years. She also enjoyed singing with the C+ Singers, and served as the Food Coordinator for grieving families, the Card Ministry, and was a member of the Golden Age Sunday School Class. Bettye loved her Lord, going to church, spending time with family and friends, gospel music, reading, the mountains, and Alabama football.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her four wonderful children and their families, C. Yvonne Moskal (Martin), Destin, Fl. , Christopher H. Davis, Montgomery, Al. , Cynthia L. Walker, Columbia, Al.

, and Craig “Kip” Davis (Carol), Echo, Al. ; her grandchildren, Lindsey N. Moskal, Destin, Fl. , Dr. Leslie E. Moskal, Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.

, Courtney N. Walker, Tuscaloosa, Al. , Adam C. Davis (Emily), and Lydia C. Davis, Echo, Al. ; two brothers John C. Bryant (Rebecca), Crestview, Fl.

, Robert F. Bryant (Debbie), Lowell, Mi. ; Son-in-law, Michael Walker, Dothan, Al. ; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

The family thanks the staff of Ozark Health and Rehabilitation and especially her special caregiver, Alfreda Johnson. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to a ministry very dear to her heart, Ozark First Assembly Mexico Ministries, 170 Country Club Drive. Ozark, Al.
