Betty Lou Warren, age 85, of Granite City, IL, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Betty was born on October 1, 1933 in McGee, MO, a daughter of the late Glenn Wills and Rose Etta (Richmann) Wills. On December 22, 1953, Betty Wills married Oshall Lee Warren, the love of her life, in St. Louis, MO.
Oshall passed away on August 26, 2009. Betty enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, colored pencil art, solving word search puzzles and reading a good book. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Betty loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Paul L. Warren; brother, Joy Wills, three sisters, Ilene Lacey, Loren Daves and Ruby Barks; daughter-in-law, Donna Warren; and by a great-grandson, Miles Penn.
Betty is survived by her loving children, Pastor Phillip L. (Cindy) Warren of St. Ann, MO, Timothy B. (Sherry) Warren of Granite City, IL, Mark R. (Treasa) Warren of Granite City, IL, Pamela L. (Terry) Cook of Granite City, IL and Sean J. (Jill) Warren of Phoenix, AZ; dear sister, Thelma (Paul) Helms of Puxico, MO; proud grandmother to Kellie (Tyler) Penn, Andrew (Sarah) Warren, Abigail Warren, James (Jenna) Ford, Oliver (Emma) Warren, Harley Warren, Clayton (Jodi) Warren, Christopher (Paulette) Warren, Calvin (Erica) Warren, Jason (Annie) Warren, Justin (Amy) Warren, Amy Rush, Melissa (Alex) Ray, Cody (Lizzie) Pinkston, Lindsay (Donovan) Schrader, Audrey (Sonny) Pinkston, Lucas Warren, Sophia Warren, Lola Warren, Isabella Warren and Keifer Warren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. In celebration of her life, funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, with her son, Pastor Phillip Warren officiating.
A second visitation will be held at Richmann Chapel in Lowndes, MO, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018, followed by the funeral service. Betty will be laid to rest next to Oshall at Richmann Cemetery in Lowndes, MO. Memorial donations may be given to Richmann Chapel or American Stroke Association (strokeassociation.org).
