Obituary for Beverly Jean Chambers Beverly Jean Chambers, 89, of Chico, passed away in her home on Monday, November 26, 2018. Beve was born to Howard J. and Venice A. (Doolittle) Walker on January 16, 1929, in Chico. After graduating Chico Senior High in 1946, she married Jack W. Chambers on June 29, 1947, and was blessed with three children.

Jack and Beve owned Rocking 4J Ranch, which included almonds, walnuts, peaches, hay, hogs and cattle. Beve actively worked the ranch on the tractor, picking peaches, running the huller, working the cattle, all while raising her three children. Beve was a fixture at the Chico Farmers Market, and also actively participated in the county as a member of the Butte County Grand Jury, as well as opening her home as an election polling site for many years.

Beve lived an adventurous life of travel. In addition to her visits to Canada to visit family and friends, she also enjoyed traveling to the Galapagos Islands, Peru, Egypt, Belgium, Alaska, and Hawaii. She is survived by her daughter, Jacque Jacobs (Dick), Son Jeff Chambers (Kathy), five grandchildren, Karissa Hasser (Kris), Shelly Merrin (Darryl), Jeffrey Chambers Jr., Dustin Chambers, Kristopher Chambers, fi ve great-grandchildren, and her companion and traveling partner, Dick Paris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Chambers, and son, Rusty Chambers. Graveside services will be held Monday December 10, at 11:00am at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, with a gathering to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Shriners Hospital for Children.
