Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Beverly Joyce Hutchinson Watson, passed away on the beautiful summer morning of July 18, 2018. She was welcomed into the loving arms of her eternal companion, LaMar, who she had longed for over the past ten years. What a heavenly reunion there was with those she sorely missed.

“Joyce” was born on March 27, 1928 to Arthur Hutchinson and Bertha Amelia Anderson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Whittier Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High and South High School. Often she described her growing up years as magical.

Because she was the youngest child, she was adored and carefully watched over by her older brothers, Everett and Mel. On April 11, 1947, she married the love of her life, George LaMar Watson. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 11, 1949.

They worked together, worshiped together and together provided a loving, nurturing home for their seven children. Joyce was the master of motherhood. She loved, listened, defended and served her children.

She raised not only her own but many neighborhood children and relatives that she watched over. There wasn’t a thing she couldn’t cook, sew, paint, decorate, remake or repair. Holidays were her specialty.

No birthday went unnoticed. Even great-grandchildren anxiously awaited their birthday card with a two dollar bill in it from “Grandma”. Her life was one of testimony and service to others.

To her posterity, she leaves a legacy of unwavering love for the Savior. Example was her model for teaching gospel truths. She is survived by her children; Nancy (Brinton) Burbidge, Brent (Kathy), Donna (Kirk) Jackson, Janice (Paul-deceased) Howard, Brad (Trish), Gary, Tammie (Brent) Gabbitas, 33 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, Paul Y Howard, parents, brothers, Everett Hutchinson, Melvin Hutchinson and sisters, Jackie Simpson and Vivian Tanner. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, July 22, 2018 from 6-8:00 PM at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1:30 PM in the Bountiful 5th Ward, 990 North 100 West, Bountiful, Utah; where a visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30-1:15 PM.
