Billy Hare, 79, of N. Country Club, Carlsbad, NM, passed away March 12, 2019 at Goodlife Assisted Living. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor Ryan Nelson officiating.

Billy was born January 9, 1940 in Carlsbad, NM to Haskell and Mary Hare. He graduated from Carlsbad High School. He attended college at Socorro Institute of Mining and Technology for three years.

Billy then joined the Air Force in 1961 for 3 years until his discharge. He returned home to attend University of Oklahoma for one year and was offered a job at IMC Carlsbad where he worked as a manager for data processing for 37 years, retiring in 1998. Billy had many hobbies from vegetable gardening to fruit trees and roses.

He was a member of Cavern City Bowman, B.P.O. Elks and the American Rose Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hare.
