Billy Joe Stone March 30, 1936 – May 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Billy Joe Stone, 83, of Sweetwater, TX, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 in an Abilene Nursing Home. A family visitation will be held from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at McCoy Funeral Home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11 A.M. and go to Pyron Cemetery for an 11:45 A.M. Graveside Services with Reverend Daniel Norton officiating.

Interment will follow directed by McCoy Funeral Home. Billy Joe was born March 30, 1936 in Roby, Texas to Curtis and Zadie Bell (Wilkerson) Stone, Sr. Billy grew up in Sweetwater and moved to Ira, Texas for 25 years and back to Sweetwater and Tye, TX the last 5 years. He married Betty Dean Creech June 14, 1957 in Sweetwater.

She passed away July 8, 1998. Billy work in floor covering (self-employed) for 40 years until 1978. Billy then worked as an oilfield supply salesman.

He was a Baptist. He is survived by a son Bobby Stone of Tye, TX, a grandson Billy Don Stone of Post, TX, a granddaughter Samantha Ann Stone of Abilene, TX, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son: Billy Eugene Stone, two brothers; Curtis Stone, Jr. and Raymond Stone, and a sister Neva Stone Herring.

Pallbearers will be nephews; Mike Stone, David Stone, Robert Stone, James Morris, Rex Morris, Dennis Gillenwater.
