Billy Joe Wellman (Stoney) age 79 of Santa Fe, New Mexico went to be with his Lord Saturday night. He was surrounded by loved ones. Cause of death after years struggling with back problems and an allergic reaction to titanium causing many years of health issues.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Gila Valley Baptist Church at 3:00pm. Bill was born on October 1, 1938, in Woodward Oklahoma. to parents father Isaac A Wellman, mother C. Agnes Weese Wellman.

Proceeding him in death are his father Isaac, mother Agnes his brothers, Jack and Ikie . He married his high school sweetheart Billie Akin Wellman, he leaves one daughter DaVonna Dickerson, husband Jerry, two granddaughters Chelsea Fuchs and husband Brandon, Tiffany Arwine and husband Mike. Two great grandchildren Henry and Temperance Fuchs, sister Bonnie Frasure husband, Bob.

Nieces nephews and their extended families. Bill and his wife taught Sunday school. They were involved with youth programs throughout the years, and helped many young people come to know the Lord and stressed to them to have self-discipline.

After retiring from the phone company he enjoyed acting in the movies and making commercials. His passion was training horses and helping his fellow man. His motto was, “When you’re having a bad day, remember something good from that day and forget the rest.
